Question Thin Line Trans Cooler Kits

I have a 2001 Cherokee Sport 4 door 6cyl. Does it need a thin line trans coolor for added protection when towing a boat long distances? I have been told so, but there doesn't seem to be room. I'm not an engine techy, so I wouldn't know for sure.

Its a good idea to add a transmission cooler to any auto transmission when towing.

If you have the tow package and its an auto trans it should already have a tranny cooler, or atleast thats how my '01 came.

I don't have one yet, but been shopping around. B&M and Hayden both have 3/4" models that should fit. Just check the height and width. AutoZone carries a Hayden for $30. I forget the model#...seems like it was incorrect on the AZ website.

If you're going to get one get a plate style instead of the tube and fin. I got a B&M 70264 for $49.88, the dimensions are 6 in. H x 11 in. L x 1 1/2 in. W. I had to remove the front bumper for mounting but it wasn't a big job.

Thumbs up Thanks for the info

Thanks for the info. Are there any special tools or instructions that I need to be aware of before installing one? I only travel about 30 to 50 miles with my boat every now and then as of today, but every spring I take a cross country fishing trip and I want to have it ready by next March so I can tow my boat.
