swaping a 91 commanche d44 into an XJ
just picked up a d44 out of 91 commanche, wanna put this thing into my xj. I know the spring pearches have to be put spring over and the shock mounts gotta be changed, driveshaft??? what to do? Anyone done this before?
Any help or pics would be great. Thx Dave

I would guess the ds might needs some work... best way to find out, measure from the center of the axle tube to the center of the pinion yoke then do the same on the dana 35 im assuming... and if they are the same, ur good to go, if its longer than the 35, then ull need to shorten it, if its shorter... then ull need to lengthen the driveshaft IF the difference in lengths are an extreme amount of length that the slip yoke in the Transfer case cannot handle it... again assuming ur using a stock tc without a sye
