Suspension...

New to the jeep thing but thinking have picked out what I want can you guys just add some opions and suggestions to what I think I want the jeep will never see the road it's purely for off road use only.

Rusty's 4.5 Spring pack kit with 15x8 4bs wheels and 12.5x33 tires.

It is a toy I don't want to spend crazy money but I don't want cheap stuff that I will have problems with and does not fit correctly, want to do it once and do it rite.

I would recommend you spend time reading the Tech/FAQ links and TSBs section at the top of the forum. It has quite a bit of info on lifts, brakes, and other mods, many you can do relatively cheaply.

You should also provide some details on your Jeep like Year, Engine, Trans, etc.

I have been glancing at the FAQ but just wanted to ask about the actually set up I am thinking of running...

It's a 86/87 6cyl auto 4wd welded rear diff, not looking anything crazy just a decent setup that I can do a lot with.

Do more than glance.

READ thru several build threads - look for long ones and you can understand how each step brought it's challenges. Most people start with a 2" BB or a 3" basic lift and then continue from there. You will begin to know the terms and the other parts that need to be replaced or upgraded.

To run 4.5" properly you will need to invest the better part of 1000 bucks plus your wheels and tires. PROPERLY is the emphasis here.

I have a hook up on tires my main concern is that I don't buy things that are a waste of my time and money. This is why I was asking about the set up that I picked out. It looking for anything crazy just something decent.

From what I have been informed for a 4.5 lift Rusty's has one of the most complete kits around. Wild like some other opions before I spend a good $1000 on something.

Rustys is just okay really. You might love it, you might hate it. There are better kits out there for a little more money though.

33s will be a nice match for a 4.5" lift. Just do your research and know what you're getting into.
