Stupid Stupid Little Accident = Need Advice on Tow Hook Buying

Well, I was way out of the city this week on a camping trip and just got back, but it was not completely uneventful. There are a lot of dirt trails to get to the campsites and while driving through i was distracted for a second by one of my passengers causing me to look back.... well next thing I knew I was in the ditch plowing through the foliage, I braked but a concrete water spigot helped me stop in the end. All I can say is thank god I have 4WD because I was stuck in that ditch without it (trails aren't bad enough to require 4WD, so I was in 2).

So I get it back on the road and get out to survey the damage. I was not expecting much since I was only going 20-30 KM/hr. I found that the foliage had scraped up the side of the Jeep a bit but it should buff out. The worst was a not too big dent in the front bumper where I made contact with the concrete thingy.

Stupid, Stupid, Stupid...

Bottom line, if you break it, upgrade. This whole episode gives me an excuse to put on some front tow hooks since I have to take off the bumper to hammer out that dent. Front recovery points have been what have been keeping me from joining any local off road clubs (pretty much all require them). So can anyone give me advice on a kit to buy that won't cost me much but is of good quality, I would like to not spend over 100 bucks.

Also on a side note, are there any full bumper kits that would not look out of place on a mostly stock Cherokee with no lift?

C4x4 tow hooks.

Easy, cheap, and great quality.

I second the C4x4 hooks. And at 75 - 85 bucks they're within your budget.

check out hi-country offroad as well. the c 4x4 is a great kit but for about half the price i've had great luck with my hi-country brackets and they are plenty stout with mounting bolts in both shear planes which is an advantage over nearly all the other systems. stay away from the quadratec ones. also, for a few buck more, the detours backbone is pretty sweet IMO... i've also seen one detours custom built without a winch mount that looked pretty sweet. IMO those are the best three options without a full bumper.

Thanks, but what about full bumper kits... Anything that won't look too out of place on a stock height Cherokee?

check out jcroffroad... i also think the backbone would look nice on a stock rig IMO since it keeps the factory bumper.

If you just want the tow hooks, the hi-country stuff can't be beat.

also consider a front hitch, a lot stronger and beefier then tow hooks, made for side winching, you can use removable winches, bike racks and such, as well as get a frame stiffener and some front end protection
