Stock 1999 Cherokee Moab Question

Hi guys, I'm a new Cherokee xj owner and I have a small question about the 17" Wrangler Moab rims. I found a set for a really good price and im thinking of picking them up with a set of 5x5 to 5x4.5 bolt pattern adapters for them to fit on my 1999 xj. But I have one problem, I need to get new tires and I know I can't go too big because of rubbing problems, would any of you know about a great all terrain tire of good cost efficiency that I could put on these rims that would fit great and leave just enough room for there to be no rubbing? I can't afford a lift at this time and I don't want the rough ride of a budget lift. please help!

30" in diameter is about the biggest you can go with an acceptable amount of rub.
