Steering Stabilizer?
I have a 99 cherokee with a RE 3.5" lift and 31s but its been 3 months and it still sits at about 4.5"-5". This summer im planning on cutting and running 33s.
The other morning i was driving and my steering just became really loose and started pulling to the right and the left randomly and whenever i would brake it would pull to one side really strong. But that afternoon i was fine. Its done it a couple times since then. I was thinking it was my steering stabilizer because it the chilly mornings its worse and in the 80 degree heat its fine so i was thinking since its a shock it stopped working as well in the cold so i need a new one? Is it the steering stabilizer? Also when i turn sharp something kind of clicks/ pops/ jolts but not bad and that started about the same time. So if it is the steering stabilizer i wanna get a good one if im going to 33s...i was thinking OME a. because its the best and b. because i think the yellow would look good but im kinda tight on the dinero so what is yalls opinion?

I would inspect the trac-bar bushings very closely.

okay i checked my trac bar and the jiggles with a strong shake so i need new bushings. Its a stock trac bar, what is the up side of paying $150 for a new jks or re one? I dont have the money for one now but in the future why would i get one besides beefing it up?
also after i fix this what should i get next? the only other thing i have is d-ring shackle mounts up front. |

http://www.ironrockoffroad.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=IROR&Product_C ode=IR-X_ATB, The upside is having the axle centered under the jeep and better flex. You don't have to have one, and you can replace the bushings on the one you have. IRO also has the double shear heavy duty model for 189 with a new frame bracket. Rock Krawler has the double shear model also pretty cheap with a you break it we replace it warranty.

It is never the stabilizers fault. Stabilizers diminish or disguise the real problems. If you want "a good one" perhaps Fox. |

Your problem is a stock trac bar with an RE 3.5" lift. The tie rod end on the chassis side is probably worn out from the excessive angle. Don't even bother with a basic upgrade, just go with RE, TREKS, JKS or whichever one has a new chassis mount with a nice heim or Johnny joint on that end.
Chances are your stabilizer is completely fine, not really much there to make it wear out.
