Starting Issue
I've had a weird problem lately... I start my Jeep for the first time of the day (so engine is cold) and it starts fine, no issues
Then, if I turn it off at a gas station or something, when I go to crank it over a couple minutes later, it won't do anything when I go to crank it; all the lights appear and such, but the starter does nothing. If I put it in Neutral rather than Park, it will start just fine. The start SOUNDS fine and everything. What could this be? Neutral Safety Switch maybe? Keep in mind that this started happening when it got cold here in Missouri. It's usually between 20 and 35 *F. Note: this is kind of weird since my brother's Jeep had a very similar problem a week or so ago; the difference was his would NOT start in Neutral, turns out his entire starter was bad. Thanks. -Dan P.

It's the crank sensor!

Yours does sound like the neutral safety switch. They can be cleaned/rebuilt if you want; new ones are kind of spendy. Use the SEARCH function for more information on the neutral safety switch (NSS)
