Started my lift install

I decided to start my lift install Wednesday morning. So far, the XJ has owned me.

I broke the driver's side sway bar end link and had to cut the rear bolt out of the lower control arm since it rusted to the bushing sleeve. Tomorrow, I'll start out doing a parts run...new end links, all new control arm bolts, get some longer brake hoses made up...and see if I can get the front end finished and maybe start on the rear.

WOW! This job is kicking my ... Anywho, The lower control arm bolts that go thru the frame were rusted to the bushings. Normally it wouldn't be a big deal, but my buddy borrowed my angle grinder...so I had to go pick that up first. Other than that, it is going well.

Tomorrow I start on the back end. Shocks and add a leaf. I can't wait to see what happens with those upper shock bolts.

just get plenty of PB on the upper shock bolts from the top (through the access ports next to the upper mounts.) Ive done shocks changes/lifts on a couple rusted xj's and ive only broken one bolt.

I've been soaking everything 3 times a week for the past month. It seems to have helped on everything except two of the control arm bolts. Hopefully I can get it wrapped up tomorrow and to the tire shop on Saturday.
