A special project I've been working on for the last year and a half...

You guys are going to like this!

About a year and a half ago I was offered a chance of a lifetime - at least for me. I was asked if I would be interested in writing a book about the XJ for a publishing company called CarTech Books. They do very high quality books focusing on many auto topics such as engine performance, muscle cars, Pro-Touring, etc, only they recently decided to get into the Jeep market, starting with a book on the Cherokee and soon to come one on the TJ.

Anyway I was pretty flattered that I was asked, but to be honest, after seeing some of their books by other authors I was pretty intimidated by how professional they were. I wasn't sure if I had what it takes to write (and take the high quality photos) that something like this would require. After a lot of thought, I decided to do it. After all, how often does a chance like this come your way?

Now a year and a half later, I am very proud to say that the book turned out much better than I ever imagined. Of course I didn't do it alone... there were several guys from here and NAXJA who helped me, as well as guys from my local club. This type of endeavor wasn't a cake-walk either and turned out to be much more difficult than I first imagined. Taking thousands of photos to find the perfect shots, going over countless revisions with the editor, and even pulling several "all-nighters" to get stuff done before deadlines wasn't fun! But the end result was very much worth it.

Here's a teaser pic of the cover:

And if you guys want to know more about it and where to get it, go to this link: http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f43/book-all-cherokee-xj-owners-272363/ as I've set up a Vendor account to keep this legit per JeepForum rules.

If you pre-ordered it directly from CarTech, you will be the first to get it. They'll probably ship out today (Monday, from what they told me.) If you pre-ordered from somewhere else, you'll have to wait till they get them in stock and then ship out from there.

When you get it, make sure you let us all know what you think of it.
