sound like a good deal? 99cherokee

theres a 99 cherokee classic for sale with 130K miles for $3950. there are a few pics of it on the net and it looks great. i forgot to ask about maintanence history but i got to give the guy a call back to get directions so i can go look at it up close. i was thinking taking $3500 cash, no more than that, since basically this was supposed to be my playmobile. anything i should look for specific in this year jeep, besides the normal things i should look over? what do you guys think about the price and my offer, i dont want to offend him with the $3500, because i thought the $3950 sounds good, but then i have to pay for inspection and tags and tax. thanks very much for any input!

oh yeah, it has the plain silver steel wheels and i dont think it has the classic badge on the fender, just cherokee. did the classic come without these items? maybe he just listed it wrong, maybe its a sport or something

a 99 classic should have "classic" badge behind the cherokee emblem on the doors, alloy wheels (echo style), all power options, and that silly overhead console that i always bump my head on. otherwise, it's probably a sport. $3900 sounds like a sweet deal if it is in good running shape and is four wheel drive.

About 3 months back I bought a 99 Sport with 160k for $2900. A month later I sold it for $3500 I would put it in fair to good condition with a few qwerks.

Things I would look at:

Power window lockout switch - it is really common for the power windows to only work on the driver's side, simple fix...just don't tell him that
Look for 0331 casting number on the head. I've been told there is a 20% chance of them cracking
