Did you go fishing without a boat When I got both my XJ's last summer I removed the carpets in both. I used my pressure washer after plenty of hot soapy water. My driveway is south facing so it's hot with lots of sunlight. It took about a day for them to dry. There's padding underneath the carpet and it needs to be taken out also. I used the pressure on the seats too but they took longer to dry Both turned out real well I've been cleaning older VW's for years this way.

No I didnt go fishing but when it was cold out I was able to go ice skating in there. You can see the ice in some of the pics, I had to break it up to get the carpet out. My seats are ok because they are leather. All of the carpet and padding was ruined, It's all in the garbage now. The good new's is the floor looked like it came out of the factory... no rust at all!!! I think I will put some sort of tuffy liner down on the floor.

It's a factory console, it has a compass, outside temp, front and rear map lights, garage door opener holder and a sun glass holder... I was thinking of mounting a CB in it,(I'm not sure if a CB will fit.) or maybe the switches for the off road lights when I put them on.
