Slip-Joint CV driveshaft

Anyone using the SlipYoke driveshaft with CV joint from
Driveshaftsuperstore.com

I am preparing for my basic XJ build. It is a DD and I just want to run a 3" lift to run 31's. No crazy wheeling just bushwacking for hunting and occasional trail run. Is this a viable solution? $295 dollars is appealing vs $600 for a SYE+newshaft.

Problems, opinions?

I would say if you are only planning on running the 3' lift, you will not need the sye conversion. I run 4.5" with 31'2 and run my DD and probally a little more wheelin thank you, and no issues, IMOP, it is probally no necessary for your application...

Depending on the year of your XJ (-95 or +96 ) at just three inches you will either have very minimal vibes. Or just need a tc drop.

I am assuming you got a good deal on a SYE and are using a front drive shaft in the rear.

By the time I pay taxes and shipping + duty (I am a canuck) a
AA or **** SYE + quality driveshaft will run me clost to $600.
I could use a front driveshaft but the time I rebuild the CV and pay for the SYE it will still be more expensive than the above shaft.

Anyone buy one of these things?

that will only mask the problem. you will still wear out the bushing in the slip yoke and then get vibes. i would save up, find a good deal, or not worry about it. i wouldn't trust a cv with a slip yoke tho...

i have crazy vibes at 50 mph with 3". i got to get new u-joints like every 3 months. im tryin to do a sye right now but i've been having problem after problem. i dont know if you'd call it a vibration as much as a serious wobble.

How are the slip joint and double cardan related. With 3.5 inches of lift is the
slip yoke really a problem? Hopefully someone on JF as bought one of these things. I suppose however there is a reason why everyone is not running them.

**** sye and front shaft in rear, just to put it in persective how strong they are, i stripped a dana44 ring and pinion while running it in the rear driveshafts hold up just fine. i just get one that doesnt need a rebuild from the junkyard for $20
