single, single 1.5 or double din for the radio?

Hey peeps,

I pulled the indash dvd player out of my old car today (JVC DVD,MP3 player). and I have a motorized indash touch screen with tv tunner. Will my cd/dvd player and indash tv fit in the radio area? meaning is it double din? Looks kinda tight. thanks for the info everyone.

What year is the Jeep? If it is a 84-96 then it is a single din 97-01 it will be a double din

My 98's are 1.5 DIN. Kind of annoying 'cause none of the new DVD stuff fits. The motorized screens that retract will work but not the flat front stuff.

I have a 98 cherokee classic. So is that a din 1.5? that kinda sucks if it is? Im am positive it is bigger than a single with no doubt. just not sure if its 1.5 or double.

my 97 rig has a single DIN dash opening on the 'bezel' but once you pull that below it is a double DIN slot, but you will have to use a dremel or cutting tool to open up the 'bezel' dash opening.l

Almost all 97-01 XJs are 1.5din. Trying to fit a double din unit in the dash requires a good bit of work and some fiberglassing to reshape the dash. I'd say sell it and get a single-din unit that flips out...
