security key emobillizer issues

I really need some help I have a 2003 grand Cherokee with a security key emobilizer issue. I don't even know where to start with the issue I have never been more confused , I will start every now andthen but not all the time .some say iit could be the key ,module or the computer .is just really weird I don't want to pu a lot of money into the wrong ting ,don't have enough t do that with. wen through emissions last year it failed a computercode but just started doing this about amonth ago.it will start and the die right away .if theres any body that hs anny feedback ,please give me a shout!or is there a way to bypass this issue ?

You may be better off posting this in the Grand Cherokee forum.

However, the Sentry Key Immobilizer System will kill the engine in about two seconds after start if the system thinks someone is trying to use the wrong (unprogrammed) key in the ignition, i.e., trying to steal the vehicle. Do you have another transponder key that you could try in the ignition?

And after a certain number of tries it will lock out the computer and even if you have the correct key will not start. It has to be "Unlocked" from the stealership. Ask me how I know.
