Searched and couldnt find what I needed.(RC 3" lift and Rusty 3.5 leafs)

Okay I searched jeepforum up and down and I found info on both
the RC 3" w/ aal and the rustys lifts.

okay so here is one of my questions:

Will I need a SYE or a TC drop if I get 3.5 rear leaf packs from rustys?

My next Idea/question is about the RC 3" with aal.

I have a 2001 xj and my rear leafs are sad, I was going to replace my leafs with new stock ones from Quatratec they are bout $75 bucks a piece. Then get my RC 3" w/ aal and it should come out cheaper then getting the RC 3" w/ replacement leaf packs which would be about $600+

I know alot of people have been like "dont get aal" but if I have new rear springs wont it be a actual 3"

that or I was going to but Rustys 3.5 rear packs and then find some 3" coils somewhere.

I dont know what Im doing and I need to actually talk to some one and not just read other peoples conversations to seek information.

Please help!

thanks,

With new stock springs, you would probably get the lift initially. But, the problem with aal is that one leaf is doing all of the lifting, so you get a pretty harsh ride and you begin to sag pretty fast.

Also, if you are looking at Rusty's, make sure you figure out the shipping and factor that in. Their shipping costs are usually quite expensive.

Yea thats what I thought but I wasnt sure.

I think im going to wait longer and get the RC 3" w/ replacement leafs. and then get some 1" shackles to give a little bit more rear height.

also do I need longer control arms and all that other stuff.

You wont have to have the lower control arms with 3" of lift. But if you lift the rear more that is what causes the need for the SYE. On your model the SYE will be hit or miss, and adding the shackle will most likely put you in need for it.
