Seafoam-How do you use it in your Jeep??
What exactly is Seafoam and how safe is it to use. The can says put it in everything (fuel, tranny, intake, etc), but I am skeptical about using something new in my Jeep. Tell me how you use it (be specific, please) and any good/bad experiences. Can it harm any sensors, injectors, etc?? Thanks!!

there is a HUGE topic already on this somewhere...
But I use it in my throttle body and in my fuel tank.. It really does a spectacular job in cleaning... I reccommend it. It doesn't ruin or mess up sensors. I have done it many many times.. Speaking of seafoam, I am due... TB use... take the intake tube off of the intake manifold. while the motor is at idle gently pour 1/3 of the can into the throttle body (be careful not to stall it, be gentle) once you poured it in, shut the jeep off for 10 minutes.. Then start it back up, and you should have a smoke show.. If your motor is too new it doesn't always work..

I occasioanlly put 1/2 can in a full tank of gas. If you pay particular attention to your fuel mileage before and after you will see a distinct difference. The way I use it I gain about 40 miles on a tank. I did it just recently but I don't think the cost benefit is there to do it all the time. I really like the thought of keeping the fuel system clean.

I make my XJ take the seafoam in the TB as I wear my leather corset and thigh-high boots while my wife spanks 'ol Emma in the receiver hitch.
But seriously, folks... One in the tank every once in a while and 1/3 in the booster hose once a year. edit: that sounds dirty too...

I've used it in the throttle body and fuel tank, plenty of times.
I would never add it to my oil unless I had some particular issue that I thought it would help, like maybe a tapping, clogged lifter, and then I would add it just 100 or 200 miles before I changed my oil. I would never add it to my transmission. It is good stuff. It seems to remove carbon deposits and clean fuel injectors well. I've never had any problem with using it.

I just did mine last weekend, poured 1/3 down the booster hose, 1/3 in the tank and saved the last third for the oil. Cleaned up the rough idle, starts quicker, and just feels crisper especially at low speeds. As a side note, i would NOT recommend pouring it directly down the throttle body. I almost caught my face on fire doing that with my friend's 4.3 blazer. Burned all the hair off my knuckles lol.

If you don't like dumping it down your TB, you can get the Seafoam "Deep Creep" which is the same thing in an aerosol can that you can spray down there (prevents it from pooling up and damaging the motor, which I've never really hard of happening). I've never done it, but even the Mopar one is a spray and it definitely seems easier to me.

would you just pour it in where you add your oil/ or do it through another hose to get it going through the system?
