SeaFoam review

Okay, I normally take hype with a grain of salt. I was returning a old Fram (for the wife's Tribby) filter at Oriely's anyway, and ask about the SeaFoam. They had it so I picked a can up.

Got home and sinse the motor was already warm I figured why not. The most Unnerving thing about using this stuff is the fact you have to pour it into the TB with the motor running VERY slowly and only a little at a time. The engine will bog and seem like it wants to stall, but then picks up again.

They recommend 1/3 the can, but I ended up using about 1/2 the can. I shut off and waited the required 5min before starting it up again. The bottle warns about an EXTREME amount of smoke through the exhaust. They are not KIDDING! See kicked out enough white smoke to hide a 18wheeler!

After a bit the smoke stopped. I didn't have a lot of time to take her out and see if it made any difference. I took her around the block and everything was okay. Later that night I decided to drive it again and see if I could feel the difference. Well, the start up is only about 4secs now, it seems (no, it does!) idle much smoother, and it seems to have cured a VERY slight bog I had after I just fire her up ang get her going.

All in all, I really like this stuff. They mention that you can add some to the valve cover (crank case) and it will help clean out the CCV system as well as clean up the valve train. My CCV tubes are clean, but I might pick up another can for the lifters!

Ive used seafoam on both of my cars for about 2 years. It made a big difference in Mitsu 3000GT as I had bad valve train noise. After doing the treatment it went away. On my jeep it got rid of an idle problem that I was having.

You can also put it in your gas tank to clean out the fuel system.

I love seafoam I used it twice my XJ and once on my brother's 2004 Grand Cherokee. When I did it to my brother's jeep it made the MPG go up 3 miles. It was at 15 MPG then it dropped down to 14.x when I used the seafoam it went up to and still is at 17.4 MPG. That was a couple weeks I did it. My neighbor was asking me if we had a fire because of all the white smoke.

too good

seems too good to be true, but the Iron Range in MN sells alot of this stuff. They use it all the time, especially in the trucking industry ie: logging, freight, etc. I would have never believed a can of fluid could work such wonders, if I hadn't witnessed the results myself SEAFOAM

It's definately made the engine in both of my Jeeps run smoother and idle ALOT better. I was having a problem with my boat where it would die once it got above 1200 RPMs. I did nothing but use a can of Seafoam and now it screams along just fine at 6000 RPMs.

In the throttle body. Actually, if you're going to do that, I suggest you get some "deep creep", which is the same thing as Seafoam, only it's in an aerosol can. Then get the seafoam and pour it into your gas tank.

Wow I just got done using Seafoam about an hour ago.
I was at Napa today and picked up a can of Seafoam just for something to do. I put like half the can trough the TB and put the rest in the tank. This is one of those things that I grew up knowing. My Grand Pappy and My Dad have always trusted and used Seafoam. I love this stuff. This was the first can for My New XJ and it now starts faster and runs stronger!

If you haven't tired Seafoam before....BUY A CAN! You'll never look at nother bottle of fuel injector cleaner again.

This stuff ROCKS.

The best part is that if you just do the TB you'll have enough for two treatments out of the one can! I'll probably pour the rest into my tank when I fill up this week.

ctavel- like I said, pouring it in was a little unnerving, but just do it SLOWLY and a little at a time.

if i put this in the TB of my '01 with 42k on it you're saying it'll start better, idle smoother and not as loud? without doing any damage at all?
