rusty's tail light's
I recently aquired a set of rusty's rear tail light's. I have a 95xj does any body know how to wire them up? What i need is what color wire's from the xj need to hook up to the lights. Im going with one red tail light for light, break, and turn, and one clear for rev. I can not figure it out at all. I can almost get close but both end up turn signaling at the same time. What i need is to know what color wire from the xj goes to what color at the light. and does the rusty light ground to the bodyand if so what do you do with the xj grounds. Im an idiot i need a scamatic

in order to combine the stop, tail AND turn functions into one light per side, you need a trailer wiring harness and brain box, which is usually just a sealed box with the correct wiring done, and diodes to prevent backfeed.
It actually just be easier to keep it with the stock setup, run red and amber lights in the boxes, then figure out what to do for reverse lights

Your jeep has running light combined with brake lights and turn is separated into the amber lens. To rewire brake turn and running light in the same red housing you need a trailer light adapter that interrupts brake light circuit so that it will blink.

Here is an adapter-converter.http://www.nextag.com/Wesbar-ELECTRONIC-TAIL-LAMP-527615556/prices-html?nxtg=e4110a1c0520-7A4900313B7E9301
Not sure that I would get it from there search for tail light converter you don't need on that includes a isolation circuit. BTW most wall mart and auto part places should have one. Good luck and post picks once you GIT 'ER DONE! Chris

no, you need one, period. It installs behind where the spare tire is mounted. You need to run wire from the trailer junction box to the new housings though
