To the right of the pic you can see what I added...if I remember correctly...5 inches but I could be wrong. I just bought the tube at the local pepboys (they had the inner and out diameter I needed in one piece) and I just measure it out and cut it then had my dad lay a quick bead on the muffler end.

Well they sell their exhaust kit with the Flowmaster 50 series which has no fitting issues. Obviously when you "upgrade" to the 40 series it is a shorter muffler and Rusty's doesn't compensate for that with that extra piping which is needed. Yea I didn't know myself until I got almost everything on and I noticed that it was about 5 inches to short. Easy fix regardless...just took a little extra time then I wanted.

a "catback" should incude an intermediate pipe (from cat to muffler)--this is where any diff in muffler lengths should get handled so that the end of the muffler is always in the right spot for the tailpipe to work correctly

I forgot to mention that I have a Catco universal cat, which is about 4-6 inches shorter than the stock cat. I'll finger something out.

Matt,

I ran that setup for about 6 months (with the Catco). If I recall correctly I needed like 8-10" of additonal tube.

I had about 5-6 clamps in the system and realized I never should of gave Rusty a dime... so I scrapped it and started fresh and made my own setup. Best of luck getting it to fit.....

It's cool Adam, I'm a welder. Making a bunch of little pieces of metal into one big piece is my forte'.
