Rusted bracket of some sort

it looks like a bracket of some sort, which on both rear sides, is rusted away. what is it? does anyone have a pic of what used to be there? it is located directly above the center of my leafs. on the body of the rear of the jeep I cant post pics yet but hopefully soon I can get some up

Sounds like the remains of the snubber/bumpstop. Is it rounded, almost to a point?

The rubber usually deteriorates over the years and falls off. You can buy replacements from quadratec. The stock ones are about 2" and you can buy extended ones that are around 4" (I would get these only if you have a lift).

The problem will be if you can get the bolts out without breaking them off. One of mine snapped off when I changed mine. In that case, you'll be stuck with drilling the hole out and retapping it.

ohhhhhhhhh ya the rear rusty bracket. It's called a thingamabober and it's very important. You need to rent one of them doohickies to replace the thingamabober.

Don't forget to torque it to a 'tad'
