Rough Idle on '99 Cherokee--TPS

My xj is idling wildly at various times for no reason. It will go from almost dying to 2,000+ RPM's. My buddy told me the throttle position sensor. I already cleaned all air intake ducts, changed air cleaner, new plugs and wires. Any other ideas?
Thanks for any response.

Does it continue to do it as you drive it or only at idle? Personally, Im thinking the IAC.

It does it while driving and idling. I notice it more at idle, but it does it in both instances.

Well, he might be right then. My TJ kinda bucked going down the road when its TPS went south, but I got a CEL immediately though.

My TPS went south long before it threw the code at me. I had to pull the fuse for the transmission so I could manually shift the AW4 and get to the parts store. This lead to the check engine light coming on while I was driving, the engine started to misfire. Put the new sensor on......perfect!!!
