I'll take the 33's if you don't want them. How much do you have trimmed off of the fenders in that pic? Is that what you still have on there or what?

Oh, and what do wives know anyway

I've seen alot of comparison between IRO and the RC long arm kit by alot of people. Now I installed IRO's long-arm on a buddy's xj and it is a 3-link setup. The new long arm from RC isn't a 3 link is it? I was thinking It was a radius setup for both sides right.?.

I have some questions.

How does the hardware mount? (Crush sleeves, self tappers?)

And have you guys had and problems hitting the lower arm mounts? It looks sorta low. If I did the upgrade, I'd only be at 4.5 inches.

And how is the ride? My short arms are very jittery. I hit bumps, and the dash groans, and and squeaks.

Sold, sorry. And they were a JK bolt pattern, to match the JK Rubicon axles I have
The fenders are trimmed for the bushwackers, they are the same now.
I wont repeat what you said about wifey's.....it was her that suggested me buying a new Hypertherm plasma cutter when my old one quite cutting right

[QUOTE=rkates;8187039] The new long arm from RC isn't a 3 link is it? [QUOTE]

Yeah it is a 3 link I do believe.

If they can do something about those tranny mount bolts sticking out I'll be one of the first in line to get one!!

Besides that, looks like a great deal, good job RC guys!

it is a radius arm kit. The bolts on the side are bolts with sleeves. There are not any clearance problems since you have to cut the lower arm mount off.

Any word on those tranny mount bolts ryan? Maybe you guys could just mock up a little skid plate to cover them and make it an optional "upgrade" or something? I'm very interested in buying a set but I don't have to skills to take care of it myself

How does the tcase skid bolt to the pan? Couple bolts? Any pictures of that?

Like mentioned, I would look at ways to try and recess (how the heck do you spell that word, and not the thing I did in elementary school?) the tranny nuts into the pan. On my Treks pan I know mine are up in the crossmember, and I have several large scrapes going right where they would have hung down.

Personally I would have raised the frame mount about an inch higher, and I am curious as to why that didnt happen? Looks like it wouldnt have interfered with the frame rails at all, and would have given a lot more clearance.

Any reason why the bend at the radius arm insnt reinforced? Seems like a weak point by having the upper mount right behind the bend.

All in all, looks like a good product. Good job on creating a seemingly quality product without doing stupid things like a silly cam adjuster, and non adjusting arms.

(IRO fans can go suck on a lollipop!)

The bolts on the bottom do use the stock mounting and then the front bolt has a flagnut (you can see the flagnut in the hole in the frame) the side bolts do use sleeves.

The TC skid uses 2 bolts that mount to the crossmember

They are either going to make a cover for the TC mount studs or recess (sp) them into the crossmember.

The bend in the arm is plenty strong and was actually requested by allot of people as a high clearance arm.

I see no issues with the bend in the arms. If the arms are made of quality material, it will not matter.
It's all fine and good to criticize, but for the money I give it
As I said already, you have to stop at some point, where the cost involved outweigh the benefits gained.
I don't see IRO, RE, Clayton, or any other manufacturers throwing up their new products for us to look at and ask questions about. I dare say if they did, a lot of the same questions would come up! Only difference would be the extra few hundred $$$$ theirs cost

X2

I never see any other companies advertising just to us, before the product is released. That way they can see the demand, and maybe sort out any visible dilemma foreseen.

and i have seen Claytons LAs up close on my buddy's ZJ. they are nice and all, but im not a fan of their square tubing, and 1k is just way too much for a radius arm set up. and the X-member offers less protection than RCs, though i like how the arms are pushed further upward.
