well those pics look exactly like the ones i email ryan at roughcountry. and mine is rolling just like that? i put in a new tranny mount and engine mounts as well. have no problems with my fan hitting? and i have no vibes. i did the sye and tom woods ds. so maybe it is your u-joints? i have no clue tho man. im happy with mine.

Yea I wish mine was fine. If it is the U-joints making the vibes than I have to figure out why the fan is hitting the shroud. maybe ill just take the shroud out

well if a stock XJ measures from the center of the wheel to the bottom of the fender flare at 17.5" and I measure the same way and come up with 22.5" by my math it seems like I have about a 5" lift in the front,The axle is set at the measurements from the instructions, plus its very close to the original position.

i definitly would not remove the shroud... jeeps already have enough of a problem staying cool as it is. and its hard to say what your vibes are from without driving the vehicle. you did the SYE and CV driveshaft right?

Yes. And removing the shroud is a last resort. and its not really vibes its more violent shaking that started after I installed the long arms. I had rustys arms on there beforehand and never had any problem like this.

how come their site says the 6.5" won't work with the np242? the project i just picked up has a 242 in it. im a complete noob but ive been doing an a$$ of reading over the past 2 days. i know theres difference in the sye/cv setup but why would the long arm kit work?

the 4.5 la on their site just says the sye only works with the 231 which i know, but doesnt mention the "kit" not working with the np242.

anyways i wanna run 33's, been debating on the 4.5 or 6.5 lift. im going to get all the parts ordered such as the cv/sye when i get the kit, is there anything extra i would have to do for the 6.5 over the 4.5?

probably gonna go 4.5 to keep the CG lower but the 6.5 would be sweet with some 33s.

notes from their site....

"""""Notes: • SYE Kit only fits models with NP231 Transfer Case. • 35" tires require minor fender trimming to clear. • Kit does Not fit vehicles equipped with the
NP242 "Select Trac" transfer case. """""""

I think it's related to the skid plate/crossmember clerances. I'm not 100% though.....

It could also be because they don't offer an S.Y.E. for the 242, and at 6" of lift you would most definitely need one.

right. but the way i look at it, RC is just selling the lift kit, i'm getting the sye/cv from tom woods. i wanna make sure the lift works before i get it, not concerned about the sye deal.

even with a 4.5 im getting a sye before i even install the lift. i wanna do this build right.

well im positive the arms arent whats causing your vibes. unless you have the lenght of them incorrect. may want to double check it and make sure you are measuring the correct places.

I have the 4.5 LA kit on my 95 country with a 242 and it installed no problem. I upgraded the U-joints and so far no need for Hack N Tap.

?

Hey I've got your 4.5 in rc lift and was wondering. I'm putting 2 in coil spacer and 2 in shackles for a total of 6 and a half in. Will the upgrade perform fine with a setup like this. Will be ordering the tom woods sye/Ds.
