A kid i know bought the AAL RC 3 inch and it honestly looked like a one inch lift. Maybe they sent the wrong size lift?!?!? Anyway he had to get one inch spacers and an extended rear shackle so his 31s wouldn't rub. That has been my only experience with RC, but you basically get what you pay for. I have a 3 inch Rustys spring pack, actual 4.5 inch, much better deal, much better quality. I would 100 percent run rustys over RC. Rustys Offroad: XJ Cherokee 3" Spring Pack Kit

I'm not bashing RC at all, all im saying is check out Rustys before you are quick to buy RC. The site has a feature where you can see actual rigs that have the part your looking at. Bottom line Ive gone to rustys for everything, exhaust intake lift tires wheels OEM parts, never let me down, great customer service always willing to help, check them out.

So looking at the Rough Country 3" series II lift, it comes with the lca's. Should I consider getting this one, or should the stock lca's be fine with a 3 inch lift?

I haven't swapped out mine, the stock control arms seem to be holding up fine. The Rubicon Express superflex kit comes with the flex control arms which is really the only benefit besides strength that upgrading will offer. I wouldn't upgrade unless you break the stock ones.

How about at 4.5-5" of lift? I know other things like extended brake line and adj trac bar are needed for that much lift.

Ok, after reading some more, I saw that I should be fine, but figured it doesn't hurt to ask here . I may get the series II, since it has the Nitro shocks and the LCA's, in case i decide to go with more lift in the future. Is there anything else you guy would recommend doing when doing the lift? Like changing shock bushings, etc? Just want to ATTEMPT to do it right the first time =]

The shocks come with new bushings. Really the only thing I would suggest would be to get a longer rear brake line. and some sway bar discos and you'll be set. Maybe new bushings for your upper control arms, and axle.

3" should be the max height on stock arms. At 4.5 or above you really need upper and lower arms, along with longer swaybar endlinks, trac-bar, and brakelines.

Yeah also your probably going to need a SYE, I dont think shims and t case drop will be enough, does anyone have experience with that?
Unless your a hard core off-roader, a 3 inch will be plenty of lift for most moderate trails. When you start going above that height your going to have to start modding quite a bit of parts as xjfever listed.
If your willing to deal with these issues then by all means jack it up to the sky, all im saying is be fully aware of what your getting into before you rush into anything.

Yeah, and as of right now, im not looking into going that high. 3 inches seems sufficient for now =]

Ok, now a change of topic, I am beginning to lean more towards the RC 3" lift, and looking at BFG AT 31x10.5x15 on Cragar soft 8's (15x8) With this setup, where would you recommend ordering them from, what offset, and what backspacing should I get?? Thanks!
