Rerouting the hand brake

Okay I did a bit of searching, couldn't find a response.

I have a 95, the hand brake is in the stupidest spot imaginable. What in the hell were those idiots at Chrysler thinking when they put it there?

Has anybody re-routed the thing? Like to a pull-and-twist knob like on the old Toyota pickups or a foot pedal like Ford trucks?

My God I hate that handbrake and I want it out of my life. What are some options?

Some models, Comanches with bench seats and rare models with column shifters, came with the foot pedal e-brake from the factory. There might be part numbers out there to do the swap with all new parts.
