Replacing Floor pan 95 XJ

Well it has been awhile since I have posted here. Last time it was regarding my 85 Cj7 and the answers I received were wonderful. Well since then, I have sold the Cj, purchased a YJ and recently aquired a 95 Cherokee Sport. I had to trade two shotguns I had, but since I dont hunt, and have no need for them, what the heck....its free.

So I get the XJ yesterday and knowing full well that it might have some problems, I can not complain...once again, it is free. I am checking it out after work today to see where I should start. Well first off, there was no cap on the oil. he forgot to put it back on, no biggy I am getting that back from his driveway tomorrow. LOL.

Well the biggest problem I see is that the floor pan is rotted. To the point where the you can see the road, and the seat is only attached at one point. No big deal, I can get a new floor pan and weld it in. So I fould a floor pan from mopar parts dealer.com for 200 bucks. I figured that is a pretty good deal.

So what I am asking is this.....

What have I gotten myself into?

How hard will it be to get the old one out and is there any precautions I should make sure I follow?

And will it be worth the time and money to fix it?

THanks.

Bob

From what I have done so far on mine, it doesn't seem too hard. Just chop old one out, cut new one to fit, and weld it in. The only thing you could screw up would be to take too much off when drilling out the spot welds on the frame rails...but I don't think it's that big of deal if you go too far on a couple. It is worth doing. The later you wait the worse it will get so just get it over with now. I think that is too much for a floor pan. I looked at them online and remember seeing cheaper ones but I decided to just make my own instead.
