Renix vs 91-96 dash?

Yes the fronts look the same but I've seen a couple times people claim they are different?
Maybe the ducting behind? I know. Ur(renix) ecu mounts under the dash and stuff....maybe that? My whole point was I Read online you could litterally drop a a pillar tube behind the dash without an issue with the ac stuff, just trim the dash a bit?
