It is on the transmission bellhousing. If you are looking at the front of the engine it will be around the 1 o'clock position. Or on the drivers side just a bit lower than the top.

If you are looking at the front of the engine, you are looking at the wrong end!!!

Only if the vehicle has rolled over.

actually tango, you took both sets of quotes out of their respective contexts. if the bellhousing was a clock, the cps would be at 1:00- from the front of the vehicle. if looking from the rear it'd be at 11:00. next time think a bit before trying to "call us out" on our posts.

wow, that was rough. Scotty, maybe the OP would better understand if you explained it from the point of replacement....we know your arms are not long enough to reach over the engine and down to the CPS!

Get on your back and shimmy under the truck. Look on the left side of the transmission (Drivers side) up on the top of the bell housing and you will see it. The wires going to it are pigtailed into the harness with the sensors for the transfer case. I used a long 1/4 swiveling extention to get to it a bit easier, and make sure you put that rubber cover back in when you replace it. New CPS units do not come with this gasket. You can do it through the engine bay, but I found that I could not see the bolts holding it in from that position.

Actually, my objective was to illustrate how easy it is to misunderstand incomplete and poorly constructed sentences. Next time, think a bit about how your posts might be misinterpreted when you fail to communicate clearly.

it wasn't my post illustrating the point of replacement. just backing up the guy that provided it.
