Rear End Sound

98 4.0 Cherokee

4 month old 3" lift

Getting a slight buzz, or brrr, zzzz, grrr sound when letting of the gas.
The sound happens inbetween letting of gas and accually slowing down. 30+ mph. The free time when the axel is under no load, wind isn't slowing the truck down or engine isn't draging...and not accelerating anymore. Happens only for a second.

Over the last month it has been getting louder, more distinct. If no one know what it is, Im sure Im going to find out on my own in a month or so.

There are many things that could be. Have you made any changes latey that may have caused it? You may have to just add this sound to the long list of the many other sounds your XJ makes and consider it "Jeep Music" instead of annoying sounds lol.

Lifting an XJ often brings to light worn out u-joints. Change the rear drive shaft u-joints. Re-check torque on all the lift kit, shock, and axle fasteners.

A recent Gallup public opinion poll shows the NRA, at 58% approval, has a higher approval rating than either Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama.
