They all went bigger than 35's without regearing and still used it as a DD? I had trouble with 32's on stock gearing and ended up going with 4.56's. They must be idleing while going down the highway.

Man, I have trouble with 31's. I can't imagine going any bigger before I regear.

I've been running 33 Mickey Thompson's on 3.55 gears for about a year now. Other than the 14mpg nothing to complain about. Yes I even use OD on the highways. Ok has some highways with 75mph speed limit and I am turning about 2200rpm a @ 75.

they all ahve big trucks. one drives an f350 superduty.. so hes got the turbo diesel pushing the tires

also now i am really thinking about putting on the 5.5 extreme duty lift and running 37s..

now i know that running 37s opens up a whole new can of worms but, i think in the end it will be worth it..

now i know that going with the 37s i will have to beef up my stock axels. and for the front i have looked at the Superior Super30 kit, and warn also makes a front hub conversion that comes with new axel shafts. but would the superior30 kit be a better buy? and is there another axel that i could swap in the front that is a direct bolt in that i could pick up at the junkyard and beef up? or will the D30 hold up to the 37s good? i havent been able to find any new upgraded axel shafts for the rear.but will the 8.25 hold up to the 37s? i am considering possibly swapping in the ford 8.8 and beefing that up.. which would be good becuase i can buy it and work on it and not have to worry about taking me jeep off the road and ill still be able to drive my jeep while im upgrading. i dont do any rock crawling or anything so i dont think i need to go to extreme with any axel upgrading..

i seriously think that a 35 is the biggest you should go. I just can't imagine driving anything bigger in an xj. swap in dana 44s front and rear and work with those since it's a straight swap. Or even full width 60s or the ford 9" You're lucky because you sound like the sky is the limit. I wish it were like that for me...
