random wire
theres a random black wire hanging off of my ac compressor. Ground? or something else. ill take a picture of it if need be.

It should be the power wire that also has the ground in it. About 12inches down it should have a disconnect. Disconnect it an touch it to the positive stud on your battery and you should hear a click. That's your magnetic clutch that engages the A/C compressor.

right now its two wires connected to eachother, both are black, but the car is 20 years old so maybe at one time one wasnt black.
One is screwed into the compressor just above the pulley on the top of the compressor, the other looks like it is cut but is inside a little holder looking thing. The end of the wire is a metal piece that looks like its supposed to go into something. Ill have a picture up soon. |

Touch the metal thing to the battery and it should click like I said. Mine is 19 years old and both are black
