quick question hoping for a quick answer

Above the oil filter in the xj's is a sensor can anyone tell me what sensor it is? I made the common booboo of breaking it while changing out the filter. lol

It's the crank sensor!

It's the oil pressure sending unit; sends the signal to the oil pressure gauge in your dash. Pretty cheap and very easy to replace. I recommend buying one from Jeep for best mating accuracy with your factory gauge.
