Quality Replacement OEM Fog Lights

What are some good replacement OEM fog lights? I keep replacing them with the OEM fog lights and they keep rusting every year. I have to get it done for inspection since it is required to have factory fog lights in good condition.

I am partial to after market replacements as well. Please, I will take any suggestions that save me from spending money replacing these every year.

How can factory fog lights be required when they were not standard equipment to begin with?

I have some Hella 450's. They are all plastic and glass on the exterior, except for the mounting bracket. Not much to rust.

In Pennsylvania, if they came with the vehicle and are part of the head light controls they are required to being in good working condition.(Meaning, the fog lights are factory installed with a factory switch and the high/low beam automatically switches the fog lights as well.) I can completely remove them and that would make them happy, but I want them!

Those PIAA and Hella's do look nice.

Why don't you just remove them for the inspection and then put them back on after? On a smaller level, I do that with the taillight guards on my g/f's Liberty because it's illegal to have them here in Jersey.

In NH if aux lights are installed on your vehicle, factory or not, and one or both are not working, you will fail inspection. My wife's Subaru had a broken factory fog light (projector type), which caused a reject. Since they are about $250 each, I went home and removed both of them. Now her car has nice "factory brake cooling scopes".

Fran

PS if you decide to buy Hella's try this site: http://ptcfactoryoutlet.com/ They sell new and repackaged (cheap) Hella products. PTC's sister company, Yellow and Blue is a site sponsor.

Our inspectors tend to be picky around here. *shrugs* I might be able to get away with just taking them off temporarily.

However, those round Hella lights look really nice. *click*

Required to be working is one thing. Required to be installed is another. If I was in a hurry to pass an inspection, an inoperative aux light would become uninstalled in short order.
