Sand in the tube will help lessen crimping of the bend

got the a-pillars done today, they are a full tube that go up from the floor and all the way back to the rear hoop, the b-pillar will attach into this when i get more t00b
also made a crossbar that mounts between the a-pillars but there was no way to hold it up there for a pic without a tack-weld, it has a bend in it angled towards the windshield. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() this is how i may do the top triangulating, undecided if i wanna do the triangle that way, or reversed ![]()

This thing is looking sick. Does it run well enough to hit the trails when you are done with the cage?

Milk crates work great and just tie whoever down back there with some rope.
Ok quick question in the cage. Why didnt you continue the A pillar bar to meet the bar you hav running to the trunk floor? It would have saved you from using that i guess more of a rain gutter tube. Get what i am saying

my vote is to take two buckets (from an XJ) and toss em in the back right next to eachother, it looks like theyd fit

Well I am new with cage building and I just know anywhere you have a main pillar coming you want some else from the floor to basically meet it there so you are creating any moments inside the cage. Aesthetically? I like the way you have it with the extra bar

the tubes should meet at the rear tube as it is stronger the welding weakens the tube slightly and the tubes create a stronger point than it was originaly as well as dissipate force better as opposed to two paths it becomes one take a stick and push on it on opposite sides direcly across from each other then 2-3 inches appart and youll see what i mean so if you hit the front corner it would have a path straight to the rear pad as opposed to a bending force on the rear tube
