Progress!

Day one..

total investment.. 7.50 yep, seven dollars and fifty cents!
1993 base, 4.0 HO 5spd



after some work.. she needs some love...............




The drivetrain is all good.. need to replace the engine, argh.. found a runner for 300. brought all my suspension home.. 384.. so total invest will be right around 1500 when said and done... I dont think thats too bad!

Was the front axle heavy enough for ya? I just picked one up and that was uncomfortable to say the least (me and the seller stuffing it into the back of the XJ).

well..

That thing was heavy! holy moly.. I wasnt quite prepared for the weight.. okay.. well I was, my back wasnt. lol
but I did also get my grill all together:

and un packed all my suspension bits:

and was going to start installing until I ran into this:

thats why the front came out... Oh well.. I figure it will make it easier to delet the vacu disco.. kill two birds with one stone so to speak.

well..

Im not sure. I have to check it out still.. The guy I got it from said all he checked was the gear ratio... which he couldnt remember.. argh.. so I figure, open her up, check her out.. new gasket and oil. hopefully slap her back together.. maybe with a loc-rite.. i dunno. I was checkin on your car domain site... You have some GREAT INFO!

Thanks.

Once the cover is off, there should be a ratio stamped faintly on the side of the ring gear.

I'd be more curious to find out if it's the bigger x297 Ujionts on the axle shafts.

well.

how would a guy go about finding out what the date would be on the axel.. I have read about them in the book, but dont know physically what the size difference looks like...
