Power steering fluid temp question...

How hot is too hot for power steering fluid?
I have a PSC gearbox and high output pump.
The mfgr "recommends" installing a cooler, which I have yet to do.
Using an infrared thermometer, I measured the fluid inside the tank at 140 degrees after a 20 minute drive.

Does anyone know the temp specs, or possibly have a way of measuring the temp of their fluid and posting it here??

TIA

Steve

Hmm...
Is that the "too hot" temp, the temp it SHOULD be at, or the temp YOUR fluid runs at??

although i dont know what my temp ran at i do know my PSC system overheated and caused air bubbles causing me to loose all steering until the system cooled down enough. on road driving never had issue, it was all on the trails with the low speed and lack of air movement. this weekend i did get the cooler installed along with hood vents to let the ambient air escape

I'd like to hear if the cooler helped with your problem.
Thanks.
