I second front U joints.
Look thru the FAQs for a How-to. I'd also do the front hubs with Timken bearings while its apart as a maintenance measure.
When you slide the front axles in do it CAREFULLY so as not to mess up the axle seals that are inside near the centersection

Do you feel it in the steering wheel when the popping sound occurs?

full lock could still be too much for how much traction you have....i never like cranking the wheel all the way in 4wd

You might check the center ball in your front DS universal. Mine got dry and rusted up once--the first time I pulled the ugly stick in a snow storm it sounded like someone had thrown a handful of gravel into the front diff. After a rebuild I now make SURE it gets greased (need to use a right-angle needle adapter on the grease gun to get to the fitting). Just a thought. Mine never made a peep in 2WD.

Well I checked the axle u-joints and they r in good shape. The sound is not constantly, just occasionally when I turn the
wheel maxed in 4-wheel drive while slowly rolling. Do you all think It could be the 235/75/15 hitting something ,I hope anyways lol.I havent off-roaded my jeep much sinced I have owned it.The jeep is bone stock.

Mine rubbed the lower control arms also with 235/75 bfg all terrains. If the u-joints check out and the tires aren't rubbing it may just be the u-joints binding at full lock in 4wd.
