piston rings
Has anyone replaced piston rings on a 4.0L? Just wondering about the difficulty of the job. I’m fairly mechanical, but have not yet worked inside the engine. Estimated project time? Anything helps.
thanks

I've done rings on Chevys and Fords and I assume it's the same proceedure. Pretty easy, but you have to be careful with them. I start one edge in and carefully work it around until it is seated.
Be sure to stagger the rings so the openings don't line up. As for time, I really don't know maybe an hour or two if it's the first time you've done it (that would be for all six).
