Pics of my XJ's progression (and a few questions)

Hey there Jeepers!

I completed the debadging, with alot of your guys' help and suggestions it went very well. Below you will see a picture of the XJ when I bought (stock), then added rims, then tint, then lift, then 31"x10.50"s and debadging. Its been fun and my next 3 projects, I will again ask for your assistance.

My first question is - I have lost all of my low end and before my lift, I was getting 270-290 miles per full tank of gas. I now average 225-240 miles per tank. I know that this comes with the territory of owning a lifted Jeep as this is my 4th Jeep (1st XJ), but gas prices back in the day never really was an issue.

So, what can I do? I am thinking getting a different gearing set to off-set the bigger tires. But what set? And is it easy and cheap to do? I am great at PC's and electronics, but when it comes to vehicle mechanics, my brain goes numb. I was thinking of taking my XJ to a local 4x4 shop (I live in the Portland, OR area) and see what they can tell me, but I'd like to get your guys view/opinion first.

My second quest for my XJ is a high flow cat. I am assuming that I will get better gas mileage here as well with the lesser of air/gas restriction. What are your suggestions here?

And my third and final 'project' was an air filter setup. I think alot of you will recommend a K&N setup. Which one?

All of your suggestions/opinions will be greatly appreciated.

Also, how do you think the XJ turned out? Thanks again in advance everyone and I will be looking forward to reading your replies.

Looks sweet! I just got an XJ and I will have to do some progression pics too. What did you do with all your emblems? I am in need of the letters to put the "SPORT" back on my drivers side. I was thinking about just heading over to the junk yard and seeing if i could find some out there.

Your tires are throwing your speedo & odometer off by about 10%. Add into that the aggressive tread pattern (higher rolling resistance) and increased drag from the lift, and you're really not doing so bad. I have the rusty's air tube w/ a K&N cone filter. I like it, but plan on getting a pre-filter to put on the outside of the cone...keep the water out of the thing!

I was scared to bubble the paint with the heat gun that I used, so I babied the decals enough to scrape them off with my finger nails. Needless to say each letter broke off into 2-3 pieces. I had others wanting them, but I could not keep them in tact. Sorry guys...

Jeep looks good man! I only get about 200 miles out of a tank now after the lift. I haven't had it long enough to know of an average but I definitely noticed my mpg went way down.

Lift looks great! Never really did understand debadging though, maybe the sides, but the front and back look funny with no decals. Just my opinion though of course.

My next project is to figure out what gearing i need to off-set the lift to get my gas mileage and low back. Hopefully i can get some insight from you all here.

After that I plan on getting a high-flo cat and an air filter.

Im still contemplating on getting the 8" subwoofer box that fits flush in the passenger side rear wheel well, but the above upgrades are first on my list.

i have a 10" subwoofer box that fits in the rear tire well and i like it alot. its out of the way so it wont take any storage space out of the back. i also put my amp under my back seat to save storage space
