My old man is an old school mechanic. He used to use aluminum paint. Not silver, not chrome, aluminum.

I did it on the small block in my old truck and it did great.

Doing my own thing, and being an individual since 1967!

A veteran is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to The United States of America, for an amount of up to and including his or her life. That is Honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it.

Modern head gaskets do NOT require any of that stuff. I used to use aluminum paint on HG years ago as well. I don't use ANYTHING on these modern gaskets.

I don't own an XJ any longer, but I still think they are the best of all the Jeep products ever made. My XJ was my favorite vehicle in my 50+ years of driving.
So...I stick around and give advice.
