Parking Brake

I have a 1989 Comanche with a Dana 44 Rear W/ drum brakes. do u need a parking brake? someone told me that it will wear quicker without the parking brake components. TIA

It won't wear any quicker than without one as long as the cables are done right.

If the cables are too short it would apply the shoes to the drums like you were using a Ebrake.
