That is what my current 97 sits at, when I meant overheating I meant it was pegged at 260 and boiling.

Mine had the same symptoms. I tried everything except new radiator.

The water pump was new but I took it off to inspect anyway. I checked the cylinder wall immediately behind the pump and it had been scored by a previous owners water pump failure. It hadnt cut thru the cylinder wall but it had removed material from the cylinder wall inside the water jacket. I found a whole lot of little balls of rusty matter about the size of a 3/16" ball bearing. There were hundreds of them. We cleaned them out, refitted pump and new thermostat and rad. cap. The car ran cooler but not 100%.

If the above list doesnt fix yours maybe you have a problem similar to mine.

My 2000 Sport runs to the left of 210 at all times now.

Radiator was 2 year old plastic tank replacement.

Replaced Water pump, thermostat, bottom hose and temp sensor (broke trying to unplug it) with new parts from Carquest. Gave it a good flush and refill with 50/50 premix and it runs below 210 on the gauge with a missing fan shroud (broke doing the radiator). Cured my random misfiring problem also.

I need to get my reader back from the guy who borrowed it to see exactly what temp the sender is picking up.
