Operation BuckeyeXJ Build

Hey guys. I have seen a lot of build threads on here, my only regret was not making one sooner when I actually put all the upgrades on. Anyways, here it goes. If anyone would like more pictures or any info, I would be more than happy to answer them.

As I bought it, 3-23-08.

Next up, I did a cheap lift. I netted about 4'' in the front 5'' in the rear. Got this completed mid August 08'.

I had to stick with 31's until I got enough money for 33's. I had to trim the fenders to put the 33's on, but this is how it was sitting around January 09. I also raised the front to 6.25'' and have the rear at 6''.

That is how it sat for about 3 months. Next thing was to fix my caster. So I ordered a set of RRO drop brackets. Took a good 2 days to put on.
This is the drivers side.

This is the passenger side.

When I tried to do an alignment and set my toe-in, I found my tie-rod adjusting sleeve was seized, so I opted to do a V8 ZJ Tie rod upgrade.

My air conditioning never worked, so I turned my a/c compressor into oba.
These shows the compressor.

The copper pipe is 10 ft. long and runs to the rear of the Jeep. You can barely see it, but I have a check valve and my pressure switch mounted.

Also, I put in a Harbor Freight air horn. Got it for $7, so why not?

When I moved to Columbus, I found out it has a pick n pull, so off I went.
I scored a stock engine skid

Stock transfer case skid

And a rear hitch,

I think I got the better of the ones, because it has 4 bolts per side.

I also got some tow hooks off a blazer. Yes, yes, I know. But they were free and I yanked out a couple f-150's pretty hard and they held up fine.

Here you can see my dual trans coolers.

Next, I got my dads old TJ fender flares.

On to the interior. I installed a power inverter. 400 continuous and 800 peak.

I then relocated my cb from overhead to the knee panel. I have plenty of legroom and it does not interfere with the 4wd shifter.

Here is a picture of both.

I also have an Auxiliary Fan override switch to control the stock electric fan. The write-up for that can be found
Here

I used to have my antenna on the rear of my Jeep, but didn't like it, especially after I ripped it off twice. I relocated it to the front right fender.

I got mad one night and decided to rip off my headliner because it was sagging.

These are just a couple of all around pics. You can see where I won a battle with a tree on the drivers side door. But then I upgraded to 97+ mirrors, so now they can fold in.

Here is an additional shot of the antenna. It sits a couple inches from the radio antenna and is also the same height, so it doesn't stick up.

The hood is open in this one.

I also have a 136 amp alternator. I can get pictures if you want.

My future plans for this is to finish the rear with the TJ flares, an IRO double sheer TB, and to put in the 4 speakers that I have laying around. I am going to use one of them for the cb radio and put it above the drivers head. I'm going to build a overhead speaker with the 4 speakers in it. Also going to be putting in rear disc's soon as soon as the drums wear out.

Looking for suggestions if you have any.

I'll keep this updated, but being a college student, I am broke. I work with what I have.

Yea, give me a sec to upload. I lived near Cleveland for a year while I had it, but nowhere to wheel. Now that I moved I finally got some places.

Here you go. I only have had my good camera for a week or so, so my pictures are limited. I only went with a couple other people, so not much of me in action, I will next time for sure though.

Here is the aftermath.

This is the only video. Girlfriend didn't want to get out often, so this is the only outside video I have.

Did you ever swap the passengers side mirror, or are you still running one new model and one old model? I want to swap mine out for the 97-up someday when I have more time. I really wanna swap the complete doors, but that is more involved.

Right now, I have the stock one on the passenger side, and the one from the 99 on the drivers side.
I have yet to swap the passenger side, but I am going to pull one next week so it can match.

They were both electric and heated, but didn't pull the switches for them, but have the wiring for it. I think that I am going to convert them to electric, so I can use them.

I want to swap the complete door also, I am fine with splicing wiring, but I don't know how much they charge for a door and am kind of broke now. But that is definitely on the list.

I haven't noticed a difference yet and I don't have a temp gauge for it, so I don't know yet. But it is definitely better than stock. .

I don't think that you could run it too cool, though.
