oil pressure gauge 93 cherokee 6 cyl

Has anyone replaced the oil pressure gauge with an electric gauge. If so did you place the sender unit in the same position as the original sender unit/oil pressure switch. What gauge did you use.

Not sure what happened but the original gauge has the needle "pegged" to the right and will not return to the left side at all.

Any help appericated,

Tom

The stock oil pressure gauge is an electric gauge.

Have you replaced the sending unit? The most common cause of a pegged oil pressure gauge is a bad sending unit. It is located right above the oil filter.

If you did want to wire an auxiliary gauge you would generally connect the sending unit for that gauge where the oil pressure sending unit is now. (Note: if you disconnect the stock sending unit it will likely give you a "check gauges" light since the PCM will think you have 0 oil pressure, you could probably rig something up with a T or Y fitting to be able to have both sending units connected)

Thanks

New sender omn order. Wasn't sure that the "pegged' gauge would restore to normal once sender unit is replaced. Time will tell.

Thanks again,

Tom
