i used quaker state defy 10-30 with good results level never seemed to run down. rotella 15W-40 seems to burn up quicker for me.

i have bad valve guide seals and a low end tapping noise i suspect as a cracked flexplate.

i also have low pressure at idle when warm.

OK guys so I replaced the the oil filter with a Mopar one and it surprisingly did help a little. I know my next step is to test the oil pressure manually but untell I get around to doing that is there anything else I could replace first?

Not surprised at all. Drive it for a bit, but check the pressure first chance you get.
