What oil and oil filter brands do you guys use? The engine has 90,000 miles on it.

I run the Valvaline Max Life High milage stuff and a oversized Wix filter.

The filter you can use is for a Ford 302 V8. It's the same thread and seals up the same as the stock XJ unit, just bigger.

The write up for the swap is in the Tech/FAq sticky and on www.madxj.com in the tech section under oil fiter adapter.

The Mobil filter # is M1-301, the K&N filter # is like HP3001 or something. It's the filter for the Ford 302 V8 like balloo said.

Is there such a thing as a filter that you can reuse. I thought I saw one that had a metal filter inside of it that you could clean off and reuse but i could be wrong

You must like throwing money down the drain. K&N is giving it to you in the butt without even the courtesy of a reach-around.

I use regular old Mobil 10w-30 oil and a Purolator or Fram oil filter. Change it every 3k miles. Never had a problem on any car I've owned, and I've had a few reach >200k miles with no engine issues.
