NP231 Range Fork FYI

FYI
There is a New updated Range Fork to all NP 231 overhaulers 97 and up. There are two forged aluminum ranged forks for the NP231 transfer case. This was an issue for me when I overhaulted my Transfercase. I had the hardest time getting good information from dealers and aftermarket parts. Long story short if you have a forged aluminum range fork with casing number 16976 you can use a 17833 witch is a newer version. My shift into 4lo high 2 wd is much smoother i slapped her togther taking a chance. Apprenently they changed the angle a hair and made it longer range. Anyway just thought I'd put in my two cents...

I know this is an old thread but can anyone else confirm that a 17833 will replace a 16976 range fork without causing any issues? Has anyone else done it?

I can't find a 16976 locally but there are several 17833s available...

Moral to the story: If you moved it, unscrewed it, unbolted it, hammered on it, wiped it off, re-wired or replaced it - Check there first![/COLOR]

In case anyone needs to know - I confirmed that this will work in a 93 Wrangler.
