Is this normal?
so i turned on my ari conditioning today for some wierd reason and i heard a loud screaching sound from the engine compartment, this only happened when i turned the ac all of the way up and went away after about 2 minutes, is this a big issue?

sounds like your belt is loose. see if it's cracked or worn you may need to replace it or just tighten it.

Yep, what they said. Mine did the same thing, and I fixed a bunch of stuff that didn't need fixing. The belt was just loose. I thought it was tight after I replaced it, but it wasn't tight enough!

I could be just a little loose, or something got on it a little oil or something, It's a good practice to run you A/C a little in the winter to keep the oil circulated in the comprssor..
