That is UGLY!!!!
Sheesh...I liked the old FJ body style, but that thing looks like it fell off the top of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down. That wavy roofline....ugh.
Any info on off-road capabilities?

Yah, I agree...VERY ugly. I was interested in the suspension type, but it does state that it is based on the 4-runner platform, so I guess that gives you some idea...

I just figured that it would be great if this sparked interest with DC in bringing back the XJ....Yah right

Well maybe we can hope for the Jeep Rescue and Ford Bronco!!! The FJ40 isn't my fav either but lets hope other manufactures try and make more off road vehicles..

Looks like DC is giving Dodge the boxy XJ styling...... hummmm it worked for the Cherokee now lets use it on a dodge. It would be ok with soild axles that you know it doesn't have.

I love the old FJ40's. And that sir, is no FJ40. I wish car manufacturers would keep their grubby hands off classic car names when they decide to make cutsey junk. cough, cough,...cougar.....cough, cough.

:sigh: It's NOT the FJ40, it's the FJ Cruiser. There is no "40". That'd be retarded anyway because the FJ40 designation refers to a totally different vehicle. That'd be like Jeep calling the next gen Wrangler platform the CJ5.

Why? Toy used the "FJ" designation on their Land Cruiser line up until 1992, then it was teh FZJ80 through '97, and the current platform (IFS) is the UZJ100. Most folks know the "FJ" and "Cruiser" badges, so they both fit the retro theme of the vehicle.

That Crosslander looks like a slightly modified and upgraded Land Rover Defender 110. I always liked the way the Defender D90 and 110 looked...too bad they stopped bringing them in, thereby driving prices for used ones through the roof. Ah well...
