New Owner - Front Plate Question & Tire Sizing

Hi Group,

I am a new owner of a '99 Classic.
I bought it to serve as a daily commuter and winter ski trip machine.

The Jeep came without any provision to mount a front license plate to the bumper, something which is mandated here in New Hampshire.

Can someone tell me if one of the following links is the correct part to mount a plate using the OEM method? I looked under the bumper, and there are 2 white plastic screw recepticles to attach a plate mount. However, when searching for a plate mount, the options that come up for a '99 don't look to use this method of mounting?

Alternatively, if someone here has an OEM front mount from their '99 they'd like to get rid of, let me know. I can paypal you for it along with the cost of shipping.

Thank you for your help.

Also, along with the plate question, I have a "stereotypical" new owner question regarding tire sizes.
Will I run into any serious fitment issues running a 235/75/15 tire on a stock suspension? The suspension does not appear to have any serious amount of sag in the rear.

I look forward to turning this machine into a great ski-weekend hauler!

Thank you,
Chris

I dont know about the pictures but teamcherokee has one that is listed for all years. Team Cherokee: Search Results the bottom listing is the bracket. Right above it is the screw set for the front bracket.
Worse comes to worse you could just use a few self drilling screws to hold the bracket to the bumper.

And I am running 235/75/15's with no problem (I was before my BB too), as are many others.

I used 3M double stick tape across the top edge of the plate and stuck it to the bumper. Works like a charm. Had not budged through ice, snow, heat, car washes....

I've got 2 plates on the front (state and MIA/POW), both I drilled two pilot holes per plate and used self tapping screws.

I'm running 235/75/15 Uniroyal Liberator AT's on stock suspension that's sagged quite a bit with no problems.

Try this:

84-01 Jeep Cherokee XJ N0S! Front License Plate Bracket:eBay Motors (item 200407817784 end time Nov-25-09 18:53:00 PST)

Meanwhile, just wire it to the grill to keep it legal.

MY Jeep has P215/75/15 listeed on the door as the stock size, I'm running p235/70/15 with no promblem, I wanted a little wider but no taller & this was as close as I could come, here in Tn. you had better watch ypur speed, because all of these little town's & citys are using cameras to get you with.
